located between the coordinates 27°41’North latitude and 77°41’ East longitudes.
Sitting on the banks of the graceful river Yamuna, Mathura is dubbed as famously known as Brajbhoomi.It is located 145 km south of the capital city of New Delhi and 50 km from Agra, where the City of Taj.
The holy place is perched at an altitude of 187 meters above sea level. As per the records of 1991 census, the estimated population of Mathura was 235,922. It has a dry climate marked by extreme summer and winter temperatures. The rainy season begins from July and lasts through September. The land of Krishna receives an average rainfall around 593 mm. It experiences the best climatic conditions between November and March.
Mathura is located in the rolling fertile plains of north central India. It has a sandy soil.
